Working with Giselle to transform the blank canvas we moved to, she listened to what we wanted and introduced us to textures, colours and designs which we wouldn’t have had the knowledge or insight to find for ourselves. Giselle has a beautiful eye for design and aesthetics and we are grateful to herfor translating our ideas into a reality.

Cotswold Barn Project

Dear Giselle I have just received a copy of the February edition of House and Garden and the article featuring the barn conversion project in the Cotswolds, for which you selected furniture from the B&B and Maxalto collection. I wanted to congratulate you personally on a truly stunning project, where the finishes and scale of the furniture you have selected work in harmony with the architecture of the barn buildings. Thank you for your loyalty to the B&B Italia and Maxalto brand through the projects you have specified with our team in London, and for securing coverage for this project in House and Garden. I look forward to the opportunity of meeting you in the future and to a continued collaboration between our two companies. May I take this opportunity to wish you continued success for the coming year and to thank you once again for selecting B&B Italia for this project.

Sincerely. Giorgio Busnelli President. B&B Italia S.p.A

Giselle has been invaluable to us on two major projects in both our London home and our Gloucestershire Barn conversion. Although two quite different projects she easily interpreted our needs in both places. Practicality and simplicity were paramount but we still wanted beauty, colour and sophistication. I can honestly say that Giselle brought it all to life and saved us from making some very costly mistakes. With four children and two dogs to consider it is no easy task to keep everyone happy but we now have two wonderful living spaces which meet all our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Giselle because she really listens to what you want and guides you through the whole process using all of her expertise, adding enormously to your own thoughts and ideas and shaping them so they can become reality. The result is magnificently designed furnishings where you feel both proud and comfortable because they are truly the result of her carefully considered design.

Family Home Tunbridge Wells

We met Giselle when she had her beautiful little shop in Tunbridge Wells. I could see she had a wonderful eye for design and detail and an attention for reusing old materials, making them look very cool and chic. She came to our beautiful Georgian house and created our wonderful kitchen, which, 8 years later we still love. I soon realised I needed her expertise in further rooms of the house. Giselle has gone on to help us with our lounge, bathroom, bedroom, office space, dressing room,TV room, and a basement bathroom, once the original coal store for the house, all of which look fantastic. We also bought a small flat which needed major redesign and Giselle helped us with the architectural planning of this. I couldn’t recommend her more highly, nothing is too much trouble and the unique spaces she creates are very special.

Cruwys Morchard Shooting Lodge

I am a Director of the Cruwys Morchard shoot in East Devon. It is a classic, very good quality, high pheasant shoot over approximately two thousand acres. I appointed De Hasse in May 2010 to work as the lead consultants on the interior design of the shoot lodge. As they had previously led the interior design on my Gloucestershire house as well as London Town house I was confident in choosing them. The lodge, a glorified site hut, required a full renovation and complete interior redesign. The design brief was loose, but one which required the combination of practicality and excellent hospitality, both of which are crucial in making the experience for us and our guests a memorable one. I was very satisfied with the transformation of the property, presenting an inviting, relaxed space at the same time as dealing well with the practical aspects of muddy boots, wet weather gear and dogs. Feed back has been universally positive, especially from those who had seen the lodge before. The project was managed and completed on time and within budget. I was impressed with the way de hasse worked sensitively with the local employees of the shoot, as well as local tradesmen, which is very important to the local reputation of the shoot. I would have no hesitation in recommending Giselle and her team at de hasse for further projects.

De Hasse has transformed the reception and office area of our central London school. Appreciating the beauty of the period features of our building, yet aware of the need for a practical but elegant office, Giselle has recreated the ambience of a Georgian rectory with beautifully designed hand-crafted cabinetry painted in colours from Zoffany. The design of the space provides lovely bespoke desks and a gracious seating area to welcome in our parents. An inspirational frosted glass screen etched with the school crest forms an eye-catching centre point for visitors who are welcomed at a pedimented oak reception desk designed by Giselle. We look forward to a long association with this brilliant designer and the team at Re-Structure who delivered a complex task on time and with impeccable attention to detail.

Lucy Elphinstone – Headmistress

Giselle has an exceptional sense of style and a true eye for pulling together a finished and coherent scheme which looks absolutely original. She really listens to a brief and, in our case, delivered a warm, colourful, eclectic look that we instantly loved and still do.

Family Home Richmond

Giselle has been instrumental in our recent refurbishment project in turning our Richmond house into a stunning home that we are all thrilled to be living in. Giselle was part of the team from the start and was involved in the planning, execution and furnishings and without her valuable guidance we would have not achieved our vision of a ‘home that was both architecturally interesting yet practical and furnished with warm colour and bold modern design’. Giselle has been a pleasure to work with. She shared our vision and worked tirelessly to ensure that the whole project flowed and the final result exceeded our expectations. She is a practical creative and has an ability to think out of the  box and challenge the norm. Having someone to turn to to make choices on lighting moods, location and colours of everything from door knobs to tiling makes all the difference in a successful project when the sheer amount of choices can be overwhelming. We had not expected a designer to be so practical and also act as an ‘interior architect’ producing plans to make the living spaces really work. We would happily recommend Giselle and will certainly be using Giselle when we have another project.
